Islamabad, 12 September 2022 (TDI): President of Pakistan Dr. Arif Alvi has conferred the award of Nishan-e-Imtiaz (Military) upon Chief of the Royal Malaysian Navy Admiral Tan Sri Mohd Reza bin Mohd Sany.

The Royal Malaysian Naval Chief has been awarded Nishan-e-Imtiaz (Military) by Pakistan in appreciation of his meritorious contributions to Pakistan. The honor is awarded to him at a unique investiture ceremony conducted in Aiwan-e-Sadr, the capital of Pakistan.
The president bestowed the distinguished award to Malaysia’s Naval Chief to appreciate his significant efforts to develop bilateral defense cooperation.

The ceremony began with the national anthem and words from the Holy Quran. Acting High Commissioner of Malaysia Deddy Faisal bin Ahmad Salleh and top officials from the Pakistan and Malaysian navy were also present.
Meeting with Pakistan’s Naval Chief
Chief of Royal Malaysian Navy Admiral Tan Sri Mohd Reza bin Mohd Sany also called on Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Muhammad Amjad Khan Niazi. Their meeting took place at the Naval Headquarters, Islamabad.
When the Chief of the Malaysian Navy arrived at the Naval Headquarters, he was greeted by the Naval Chief and honored with the Guard of Honour. Following that, he laid a wreath at the Martyrs memorial. He was also introduced to Naval Headquarters’ Principal Staff Officers.
Later, the Chief of the Malaysian Navy visited Admiral Muhammad Amjad Khan Niazi at his office. During the discussion, topics of common interest were covered, particularly mutual partnerships and the maritime security situation of the region.
The Naval Chief emphasized Pakistan Navy’s Regional Maritime Security Patrols program to ensure maritime security and stability in the region. The visiting Admiral praised the Pakistan Navy’s efforts and endeavors in the promotion of regional cooperative maritime security.
The Malaysian Navy Chief also was provided with comprehensive information on the tasks and operational skills of the Pakistan Navy. The recent meeting of Malaysia’s Navy Chief was intended to strengthen mutual cooperation between Pakistan and Malaysia.
