Islamabad, 19 September 2022 (TDI): Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan has released the details about Pakistan’s participation in the 77th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) Session. The 77th UNGA Session is being held in New York.

Pakistan’s Participation
Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif will attend the 77th Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) from 19 September to 23 September.

The Foreign Minister of Pakistan Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Hina Rabbani Khar will also attend the session. Moreover, several cabinet members and top officials will also accompany the Prime Minister.
Prime Minister’s Participation
The Prime Minister will address the session UN General Assembly on 23 September. In his speech, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will underline the challenges that Pakistan has confronted in the aftermath of the current terrible flooding caused by climate change.
The Prime Minister will lay forth practical recommendations for addressing the enormous risk presented by climate change as a whole. He will also discuss Pakistan’s stance and viewpoint on regional and international topics of relevance such as the issue of Jammu and Kashmir.
On the sidelines of the UNGA session, the Prime Minister will attend the Global Food Security Summit. This summit will be co-hosted by the African Union, the European Union, and the United States.
Furthermore, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will attend a closed-door meeting of world leaders on COP-27. The selected international leaders will talk about climate change in the closed meeting.
Foreign Minister’s Participation
Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari will also engage in a wide range of high-level events as well as bilateral meetings. He will hold meetings with a multitude of his counterparts. Moreover, he will talk to mainstream press and think-tank dialogues.
Furthermore, Bilawal Bhutto will lead the G-77 and China Annual Meeting of Foreign Ministers, the OIC Annual Coordination Meeting of Foreign Ministers, and the meeting of the OIC Contact Group on Jammu and Kashmir.
