Kabul, 6 September 2021 (TDI): Faiz Hameed, the Director-General of Inter-Services Intelligence of Pakistan met Gulbuddin Hekmatyar, the leader of the Hezb-e-Islami Party.
Director-General was the first official who came to Kabul at the invitation of the Taliban. He met with them. After that, he arranged a meeting with Gulbuddin Hekmatyar. The Afghan news outlet quoted a source close to the situation as saying that General Faiz Hameed and Gulbuddin Hekmatyar discussed building a coalition government in Afghanistan.
Gulbuddin Hekmatyar is the leader of the Hezb-e-Islami Gulbuddin party and served as Afghanistan’s Prime Minister twice in the 1990s. He is still a major player in Afghan politics, especially now that the Taliban are putting the finishing touches on the new government.
