Islamabad, 4 October 2021 (TDI): Federal Minister for energy, Hammad Azhar, met the Ambassador of the Netherlands to Pakistan, Wouter Plomp.
During the meeting, Minister Hammad Azhar highlighted Pakistan’s government efforts in generating a clean and environment by renewable energy sources. He said that efforts are taken to increase the share of renewables in the energy matric of Pakistan. This has been increased by 45 percent by 2030. To enhance the country’s energy transmission capacities. He added that all future energy projects would be based on renewable sources including hydropower.
The Minister also apprised of government’s upcoming policy of transportation of electricity. Under this policy, power producers would be allowed to sell electricity to any local business entity.
Ambassador Plomp expressed that Dutch companies are interested to invest in projects of power generation through solid waste management.
