The Hague, 28 March 2022 (TDI): The Embassy of Pakistan in the Kingdom of Netherlands in partnership with IHE Delft Institute for Water Education, is conducting a series of Webinars.
The topic of the series is ‘Water Security and Sustainable Development in Pakistan’. In the series, the first webinar was just held recently.

Water: A precious resource
The aim of the series is to shed light on ways in which water security can be achieved, sustainably. In the recent webinar, Ambassador Suljuk Mustansar Tarar gave his opening remarks.
He remarked that sustainable development must be ensured in Pakistan. Having said that he underscored the significance of achieving security in water, agriculture, and related sectors.
Additionally, he highlighted the commendable ‘science diplomacy initiative’ of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Pakistan. Doctor Eddy Moors, the Rector of IHE Delft Institute for Water Education then gave a presentation.
His presentation focused on precious resource management and why the management remains significant. Doctor AbuBakr Muhammad, an associate professor at LUMS University, also shared his knowledge and views.
His talk remained focused on Pakistan’s vision and the strategy of the country for education. Not only that but he remarked that policy planning regarding the resource needs to be altered
Haris Ali, then shared his expert opinion since he has experience working with the Punjab Irrigation Department. Like others, he underscored the significance of capacity building.
It is pertinent to mention, that Doctor Ilyas Masih was the moderator during the discussion. Lastly, Ambassador Suljuk Mustansar Tarar and Doctor Eddy Moors paid gratitude to the panelists and participants.

Doctor Eddy Moors – He is the Rector of IHE Delft
Doctor AbuBakr Muhammad – He is the Associate Professor and Chair of Electrical Engineering. Additionally, he is the lead for the National Agricultural Robotics Lab at the Lahore University of Management Sciences.
Haris Ali – An eminent personality from the Punjab Irrigation Department.
Doctor Ilyas Masih – Is the Associate Professor of Water Resources Planning at the Department of Water Resources and Ecosystems at the IHE Delft.
