New Delhi (TDI): Saad Ahmad Warraich, the Charge d’Affaires of Pakistan to India, laid a traditional chaddar at the shrine of Hazrat Khwaja Nizamuddin Aulia (RA) in New Delhi, representing the Government and people of Pakistan.
He was accompanied by a group of 75 Pakistani Zaireen who are visiting India to partake in the 721st Urs celebrations of the revered Sufi saint, according to a press release.
Upon arrival at the Dargah on Wednesday, Warraich and the Zaireen were warmly welcomed by Sajjadah Nasheen Dewan Tahir Nizami.
After laying the chaddar, they offered prayers for the progress and prosperity of Pakistan.
The group also paid their respects at the Dargah of Hazrat Amir Khusro (RA), situated within the same complex.

During the visit, the Sajjadah Nasheen performed the dastaarbandi (traditional turban ceremony) for the Charge d’Affaires and the group leader of the Zaireen.
In his address, Warraich highlighted the important role of Sufi saints in promoting universal brotherhood, tolerance, and love, aligning with the fundamental tenets of Islam.
He acknowledged their profound influence in inspiring the community through their exemplary character and moral values.

The Pakistani Zaireen are in New Delhi from October 19 to 25 to participate in the annual Urs, which falls under the framework of the 1974 India-Pakistan Protocol on Visits to Religious Shrines.
