Cairo, 11 September 2021 (TDI): Pakistan’s changing policies from geo-politics to geo-economics have motivated it to expand its diplomatic ties with the African region. For this purpose, Pakistan and Egypt have shown mutual interest by discussing political, economic, defensive, and commerce interests.
Both sides had been sharing their views at the seminar, held in Cairo. Ambassador Sajid Bilal, Ambassador of Pakistan to Cairo, discussed bilateral diplomatic terms by highlighting the maximum gains through diplomatic means. The organized official seminar by the Cairo mission of Pakistan also observed “Pakistan-Egypt Friendship Day.” In the symposium, the speakers from Egyptian government officials also praised Pakistan’s tranquility and assistance with other nations and regions. According to Ambassador Sajid Bilal, Pakistan’s political shift in “Naya Pakistan” (New Pakistan) has developed a strategy of engagement, connectivity, and enhanced economic cooperation.
Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi also joined the seminar via an online video call. During the discussion, the embassy’s Trade and Investment Attaché also endorsed Pakistan’s trade and investment initiatives in the region. The Cairo mission ended with supportive remarks from an Assistant Foreign Minister of the African Organisations and Communities Ambassador, Soha Gendi, who encouraged the importance of the African regional economic connectivity.
