Dakar, 28 August 2024 (TDI): Pakistan’s Ambassador to Senegal Saima Sayed called on Director General Agence Presse Senegalais Thierno Ahmadou SY on Tuesday.
“He was very forthcoming and expressed desire in connecting with Pakistani counterparts. Hope to strengthen linkages between Pakistan-Senegal media organizations,” a post quoting the envoy on social media platform X said.
Director General of APS, Thierno Ahmadou Sy, welcomed the envoy.
The meeting was marked by a desire to work together, to strengthen cooperation between the two nations, especially in the media sector, according to a statement from the Senegalese state news agency.
During the meeting, Ambassador Saima Sayed also appreciated the initiative to digitalize the contents of the Senegalese press agency.
The Senegalese Press Agency (APS) is the national public press agency of Senegal, founded in 1959. Its mission is the collection, processing and dissemination of information, especially through its website.

The agency holds a monopoly on the dissemination of information distributed in Senegal by international press agencies.
