Pakistani Delegation Visits Shenyang Normal University in China

Shenyang (TDI): A high-level interaction was recently held between eminent Pakistani professionals and senior faculty members of Shenyang Normal University’s College of Life Science to explore practical avenues of collaboration, with a strong emphasis on agricultural cooperation.

The Pakistani side was represented by Muhammad Asif Noor, CEO of Diplomatic Insight Group (DIG) Pakistan, a think tank and media house focusing on CPEC and international relations, and entrepreneur Zeeshan Ahmed Siddiqui, known for his expertise in IT, smart cities, and urban development.

From the Chinese side, Dean Prof. Zhang Yang, Associate Dean Dr. Fu Wei, Assistant Dean Dr. Li Limei, and International Coordinator Prof. Abid Ali took part in the dialogue.

Discussions focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation in agriculture in light of climate change challenges and in line with the Belt and Road Initiative’s vision for a “Shared Future.”

Among the proposals, both sides agreed to jointly author a book on agricultural collaboration between Pakistan and China, compiling best practices, research insights, and success stories for wider circulation.

Another initiative under consideration is a study tour of China by progressive Pakistani farmers. The proposed visit would enable them to observe modern, climate-resilient farming technologies firsthand, fostering capacity building and technology transfer to support sustainable agricultural development in Pakistan.

The meeting underscored the mutual resolve of both sides to pursue result-oriented cooperation, with the aim of delivering tangible benefits for farmers, researchers, and broader agricultural communities in both countries. It was viewed as a significant step in turning bilateral aspirations into concrete action under the BRI framework.
