Pakistani Ambassador emphasizes role of academia in bilateral relations

Beijing, 16 December 2021 (TDI): Pakistani Ambassador to China has emphasized the role of academia in strengthening Pak-China relations.

Moin-ul-Haque, the Pakistani ambassador to China expressed these remarks in the opening ceremony of the 70th anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic relations between China and Pakistan. He acknowledged the role of academia in enhancing bilateral relations.

Moin stated that the role of the public is an important factor in determining the bilateral relations of the two states. He acknowledged the role of the think tanks, students, and other academic institutions in strengthening the bilateral relations of Pakistan and China. The think tanks from the two sides hold Webinars emphasizing the past, present, and future of the bilateral relations between the two sides. They also discuss the ironclad friendship between the two sides.

Academic Circles plays an important role in strengthening relations

The ambassador pointed out that the academic circles have created new channels for cooperation. He stressed that the cultural and educational exchanges have enhanced people-to-people contacts between the two states. It has deepened the mutual trust between the two ironclad friends.

The student exchanges between the two sides have been increasing with time. China provides a huge number of scholarships to Pakistani students. Pakistani students also get visas for China easily as compared to any other part of the world. The cost of living is also affordable as compared to the US or Europe. Pakistani students now prefer to study in China.

Pakistani students after coming back from China help to build a positive public opinion about China-Pak relations. They play an important role in strengthening bilateral relations. China has been assisting Pakistani students and providing them a comfortable environment to study and research.

China and Pakistan are traditional friends. The two countries share a history of supporting each other in hard times. China has been also assisting Pakistan in its economic development by its multi-billion dollar project of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
