Washington DC, 25 January 2022 (TDI): Ambassador of Pakistan to the United States, Asad Majeed Khan was invited by the University of Virginia to give an insight into Pakistan for the people of the University of Virginia.
During the session, Ambassador Khan exchanged with Ambassador Stephen D. Mull, Dean Ian H. Solomon, and students of the University. The session was virtual and moderated by the Vice Provost for Global Affairs, Ambassador Steve Mull.
It was the different branches of the University that led the session. Such as the UVA Global, the Frank Batten School of Leadership, Public policy, Miller Center, and the Department of Middle Eastern and South Asian Languages and culture.

UVA’s Department of Middle Eastern and South Asian Languages and culture
This department focuses on the historical ties between the nations of the Middle East. The Middle East regroups countries such as Afghanistan, Jordan, Iraq, Iran, Israel, Lebanon, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Yemen, United Arab Emirates.
In addition, Algeria, Egypt, Libya, Morocco, Sudan, and Tunisia are in North Africa, and India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, and Sri Lanka are in South Asia.
Furthermore, the University teaches six languages of the region. The six languages are Arabic, Hebrew, Hindi, Persian, Sanskrit, and Urdu languages spoken by 32 % of the world population.
