Pakistan, World Bank to expand educational partnership

Federal Minister for Education and Professional Training, Shafqat Mahmood met Delegation of World Bank in Islamabad to discuss ongoing collaboration in education and opportunities that can expand this partnership.

Islamabad, 9 November 2021 (TDI): Federal Minister for Education and Professional Training, Shafqat Mahmood met a delegation of the World Bank. The Delegation was headed by World Bank’s Practice Manager, Cristian Aedo in Washington, DC.

Minister Shafqat Mahmood, and Cristian Aedo deliberated on improving education in Pakistan. Both sides discussed the prevalent collaboration in the education sector. They also discussed possibilities of expanding the partnership between the education sector in Pakistan and the World Bank. Representatives from both sides considered any probable opportunities.

The meeting was also participated by World Bank’s Practice leader, Mr. Lire Esrado. Another participant was Ms. Tanzeen Fasih who is a Lead Economist. Mr. Koen Martjin Geven who is an economist also deliberated his remarks in the meeting while Izza Farrakh who is a Senior Education Specialist also became a part of the delegation. Arrangements like these are beneficial for Pakistan’s education sector which is in dire need of amelioration.
