Karachi, 1 September 2022 (TDI): Prime Minister of Pakistan, Shehbaz Sharif thanked the President of United Arab Emirates (UAE), Mohamed Bin Zayed on the delivery of the first tranche of humanitarian relief aid drive for Pakistan’s flood affectees.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif thanked the President of UAE in a tweet.

Moreover, the Prime Minister has confirmed the start of delivery of relief goods by the UAE. Markedly, the total amount of relief aid by the UAE is $50 million for the flood victims.

President of UAE Mohamed Bin Zayed vowed to continue the supply of flood relief goods for Pakistan, tweeted Shehbaz Sharif. President Mohamed Bin Zayed and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also held a telephone conversation on 31 August 2022.

In addition, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also announced that he had postponed his official visit to UAE. He explained that he has decided to postpone this visit in consultation with President Mohamed Bin Zayed.

Prime Minister was scheduled to visit UAE on 3 September 2022. This visit was planned at the invitation of the President of UAE. This visit is postponed in order to keep the focus on the flood relief activities and rescue operations.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif reiterated that Pakistan will remain thankful forever to everyone who stood with Pakistan in this time of crisis.

UAE Embassy in Pakistan

The UAE Embassy in Pakistan has confirmed the provision of the first tranche of food supply in Karachi. According to the details, the supply contains food, medical and health supplies, and tents for shelter the flood-affected people.

In response to the tweet of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, the UAE Embassy has assured to continue supporting Pakistan.

UAE vowed to help the flood-affected people of Pakistan according to the vision of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.
