Islamabad, 31 August 2022 (TDI): Pakistan’s Prime Minister, Shehbaz Sharif lauded Turkish President, Recep Tayyip Erdogan for leading humanitarian aid drive for Pakistan’s flood affectees. Shehbaz Sharif thanked the Turkish President in a tweet.

The Prime Minister also praised the flood relief efforts of Turkiye. Turkiye has initiated an extensive relief fund for Pakistan.
So far, six aircraft have arrived in Pakistan, with two others scheduled to reach soon. A cargo train having humanitarian aid left the capital of Turkiye for Pakistan’s flood affectees.
Turkiye is providing lifesaving supplies to Pakistani people in response to the country’s disastrous floods. Thus far, the Turkish government has dispatched aircraft stuffed with tents, food, medicine, and other supplies to Pakistan.

Turkiye intends to transport two more such consignments to Karachi’s international airport. The Turkish Red Crescent is also assisting in the distribution of meals and clean drinking water in the province of Balochistan.
Pakistan-Turkiye Relations
Turkiye’s ties with Pakistan have evolved on the foundation of a deep bond and fraternity after Pakistan’s independence on August 14, 1947. The foundation of diplomatic relationships between Turkiye and Pakistan is now 75 years.
The subcontinental Muslims’ assistance in the Turkish Struggle for Independence holds a particular place in the hearts of the Turkish people. After the creation of Pakistan, bilateral high-level meetings fostered cordial connections further.
While the two sides help one another in passing through many of the tough problems like moments of natural catastrophes. This contributed to the building of strong connections between both countries.
The formation of the High-Level Cooperation Council in 2009, which was afterward advanced to the status of the High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council (HLSCC), codified the two nations’ ties.
