Sharjah (TDI): The Sharjah FDI Office (Invest in Sharjah) and the Pakistan Business Council hosted the Sharjah-Pakistan Business Roundtable on Thursday, drawing over 200 investors and entrepreneurs to discuss avenues for bolstering economic ties and fostering bilateral investments.
Pakistan’s Consul General in Dubai, Hussain Muhammad, underscored the historic and deep-rooted ties between Pakistan and the UAE during the event.
He noted that the relationship is built on shared values, traditions, and a mutual commitment to progress.
“The leadership of Pakistan and the UAE enjoys mutual trust and confidence, with a shared vision to expand political, trade, and economic relations,” he said.
Highlighting Pakistan’s economic potential, he identified agriculture, textiles, information technology, and renewable energy as promising areas for collaboration, adding that Sharjah’s investors stand to benefit significantly from exploring these sectors.
The Consul General also pointed to the recently established Pakistan Business Council in Sharjah as a sign of growing bilateral collaboration, expressing optimism about its role in supporting Pakistani investors, fostering partnerships, and advancing shared economic goals.
Sheikh Fahim Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Department of Government Relations (DGR) in Sharjah, praised the longstanding relationship between Sharjah and Pakistan, lauding the Pakistani community in the UAE for their contributions across various sectors.

Invest in Sharjah CEO Mohamed Juma Al Musharrkh reaffirmed the robust economic relations between the two regions, stressing their mutual respect and shared vision.
He expressed confidence in the potential for further collaboration, citing Sharjah’s thriving business environment and the dynamic industries in Pakistan as complementary strengths.
The event featured a panel discussion with prominent leaders from both Sharjah and Pakistan.

Participants included Saif Al Suwaidi, Director of Sharjah Publishing City Freezone; Marwan Alichla, Director of Investment Promotion at Invest in Sharjah; Amir Hassan, Founder and Chairman of Diyar Group; and Hiba Al Marzouqi, Head of Business Councils at the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The Roundtable concluded with a call to strengthen economic ties and explore new opportunities for mutual growth in the years to come.
