Doha, 28 September 2023 (TDI): Pakistan’s Federal Minister for National Heritage and Culture, Jamal Shah held a meeting with Qatar’s Minister of Culture Sheikh Abdulrahman bin Hamad bin Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani.

The meeting was held on the sidelines of the 12th Conference of the Culture Ministers of the Islamic World Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (ICESCO) of OIC in Doha, Qatar.

Pakistan and Qatar have committed to strengthen their bilateral cultural connections during the meeting.

Both Ministers explored avenues for advancing cultural collaboration between their respective countries, which encompassed initiatives such as joint exhibitions, cultural exchanges, and training programs.

Additionally, they reached an agreement to collaborate in the preservation and promotion of Islamic cultural heritage.

Minister Shah conveyed his gratitude to Minister Al Thani for Qatar’s warm hospitality and expressed his optimism that both countries would continue fortifying their cultural relations in the future.

The ICESCO conference serves as a significant gathering of culture ministers representing countries from across the Islamic world.

This conference offers a platform for ministers to engage in discussions regarding the various challenges and opportunities that Islamic culture faces.

It serves as an arena for developing strategies to foster cultural cooperation and dialogue among participating nations.

Federal Minister emphasized Pakistan’s strong commitment to its enduring and fraternal relationship with Qatar, emphasizing that these ties are founded on mutual interests and shared values.

Both parties emphasized the significance of progressing with negotiations concerning the proposed cultural exchanges between Pakistan and Qatar.

During the event, the federal minister also engaged with the media alongside his Qatari counterpart.

The Minister also had a meeting with the Director-General of ICESCO and the Culture Minister of Palestine, where they emphasized cultural exchanges and the enhancement of relations.

Furthermore, he held meetings with his counterparts from Iran and Somalia, during which they deliberated on potential areas of cooperation and underscored the importance of augmenting cultural exchanges and fortifying bilateral relations.
