Pakistan Proposes Direct Trade Links to Tajikistan

Beijing (TDI): Pakistan hopes to develop a road connection to Central Asian nations and a direct economic route to Tajikistan; a corridor connecting China and Afghanistan may also be considered. For two-way trade, the Kurakram Highway, Khunjarab, Kashgar, Murghab, and Dushanbe route will be used.

On the eve of the Global Transport Forum, this was discussed at a side discussion between Tajikistan’s Minister of Transport, Azim Ibrahim, and Federal Minister for Communications Abdul Aleem Khan, in Beijing, China.

Pakistan is prepared for the Joint Ministerial Committee and Joint Working Group meeting with Tajikistan, according to Federal Minister Abdul Aleem Khan.

As a result of his recent trip to Tajikistan in May, he hailed the launch of direct flights between the two nations. According to Federal Minister Abdul Aleem Khan, more effort would be made in Pakistan’s goal to advance bilateral trade with all Central Asian nations.

He talked about ways to address the issues that drivers and trawlers traveling to Tajikistan were having.

He expressed gratitude for the current Global Transport Forum in Beijing, China, stating that this forum will, in particular, foster communication and collaboration among Asian nations.

Federal Minister Abdul Aleem Khan led a Joint Ministerial Committee meeting in May in Tajikistan, and Minister of Transport for Tajikistan Azim Ibrahim conveyed his positive feelings for the people of Pakistan.

In the future, he committed to furthering both partnerships and cooperative efforts.

Both Tajikistan’s Minister of Transport, Azim Ibrahim, and Pakistan’s Federal Minister of Communications, Abdul Aleem Khan, agreed to move on with mutual agreements after discussing the four countries’ Traffic and Transit Agreement.
