Pakistan-Palestine unity: global call for solidarity

Islamabad, 3 November 2023 (TDI): In a powerful display of solidarity, the Pakistani people, government, and leadership have reaffirmed their unwavering support for their brothers in humanity in Palestine.

The call for global unity resonates as a plea for recognition that, as descendants of Adam and Eve, we are bound together as one human family.

The plea extends particularly to the people of Western countries in Europe and the United States of America, urging them to recognize the shared heritage with Palestine, notably emphasizing the connection to Jesus Christ, born in Bethlehem and living in the Palestinian city of Jerusalem.

This poignant reminder seeks to unite people across borders, transcending religious and cultural differences in a shared commitment to justice and compassion.

The State of Palestine’s participation in the annual Lok Mela, organized by the Lok Virsa Department of Pakistan’s cultural and heritage festivals, marks a historic moment.

For 42 years, this cultural extravaganza has been a celebration of Pakistani culture and heritage, with Palestine becoming the first country outside its borders to actively engage.

This participation serves as a resounding affirmation that Palestinians and Pakistanis are not just connected by geography but share a deep bond as one people in two nations.

The cultural festival’s significance is further underscored by the honoring of His Excellency Jamal Shah, the Federal Minister for Culture and Heritage, who played a pivotal role in hosting the State of Palestine wing.

The festival showcased events highlighting Palestinian culture, sending a poignant message of support and solidarity from the people of Pakistan to their Palestinian counterparts.

The stark realities of occupation, war crimes, apartheid, and genocide demand global attention, urging nations to stand united against these atrocities.

As the call for solidarity reverberates, the hope is that more individuals and nations worldwide will join hands in condemning injustice and advocating for a just and peaceful resolution.

The enduring spirit of the Palestinian people, rooted in a rich history that spans millennia, serves as a testament to their resilience and determination to thrive despite the challenges they face.

May Allah protect the land, its people, and all of humanity as they strive for a future where peace and justice prevail.
