Pakistan Navy Successfully Fires Surface-to-Air Missile

Rawalpindi (TDI): The Pakistan Navy has successfully demonstrated its combat readiness and war-fighting capability by conducting a live firing exercise in the North Arabian Sea, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Sunday.

During the exercise, a Pakistan Navy ship engaged highly manoeuvrable aerial targets using the FM-90(N) ER Surface-to-Air Missile. The drill was closely observed at sea by Commander Pakistan Fleet, Rear Admiral Abdul Munib, aboard a fleet unit.

Commending the officers and sailors involved, Rear Admiral Munib praised their professionalism, dedication, and operational competence. He reaffirmed the Navy’s steadfast commitment to defending Pakistan’s maritime frontiers and safeguarding national maritime interests under all circumstances.

The Pakistan Navy, like other branches of the armed forces, regularly conducts live-fire exercises to enhance operational preparedness. Last month, the Navy successfully tested an indigenously developed ship-launched anti-ship ballistic missile, a system capable of striking both sea and land targets with high accuracy.

The missile incorporates advanced guidance technology and enhanced manoeuvrability for improved performance in complex operational environments.

In a related development, the Pakistan Army on September 30 conducted a successful training launch of the Fatah-4, a domestically developed ground-launched cruise missile with a range of 750 kilometres.

Equipped with modern avionics and terrain-hugging capabilities, the Fatah-4 is designed to evade missile defense systems while striking targets with precision.

These exercises underscore Pakistan’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its indigenous defense capabilities and maintain readiness across land, sea, and air domains.
