WASHINGTON, (TDI): Pakistan Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb, currently in the Unites States for the annual meetings of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank, called on Turkish Treasury and Finance Minister Mehmet Simsek.
During their meeting here in Washington, Aurangzeb emphasized the strong and enduring ties between Pakistan and Türkiye, particularly highlighting the substantial potential for enhancing bilateral trade.

He acknowledged the historical and brotherly relationship between the two nations and expressed interest in learning from Türkiye’s experience in reforming its power sector.

Aurangzeb urged Turkish businesses to explore joint ventures with Pakistani firms, believing that such collaborations could boost economic cooperation and facilitate the exchange of best practices.
Both ministers reaffirmed their commitment to expanding economic collaboration, focusing on identifying new growth areas and strengthening their partnership across multiple sectors.
In addition to his meeting with Simsek, Finance Minister Aurangzeb is scheduled to engage with high-ranking officials from the IMF and World Bank and meet with counterparts from China, the United Kingdom, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates during his visit.
