Karachi (TDI): A major milestone in defense cooperation was the arrival of the Italian Navy’s (Marina Militare) aircraft carrier Cavour at Karachi Naval Port. This brings F-35 fighter jets as part of the Italian Carrier Strike Group.

The Cavour and its accompanying strike group will engage in joint naval exercises with Pakistan’s Navy’s Surface Task Group. These exercises are designed to improve interoperability between the two naval forces.

However, this will focus on complex tactical maneuvers, air-sea coordination, search-and-rescue operations, and defense strategies against emerging maritime threats.
