As the second phase of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) began, he emphasised that BOI was taking the lead in investment promotion, facilitation, and industrial collaboration.

He went on to say that the second phase of CPEC included people-to-people and business-to-business (B2B) collaboration.

He expressed the hope that the expo would play a key role in fulfilling the second phase of CPEC’s objectives.

In terms of facilitating innovation and B2B relations between the two countries, Rehman stated that the creation of a Pakistan-China B2B investment site would allow Chinese, local, and third-party investors to be matched.

The BOI authorities took note of the proposals received from the investor community and stakeholders on the occasion, promising to pursue them at the appropriate level.

According to a BOI press release, Henan Province, China’s largest province, has enormous potential for investment projects and operations between firms on both sides.

Badaruz Zaman, Commercial Counsellor at Pakistan’s Embassy in Beijing, said Pakistan’s economy was at a critical juncture, with the ability to steer toward an industrialised future.

“Pakistan needs to attract new investments that will help it create jobs and to foster economic growth,” he said.
