Dubai, 20 February 2022 (TDI): Foreign Minister of Pakistan, Shah Mehmood Qureshi lauded the Emirati leadership for its role against terrorism and cooperation with Pakistan. He said that Pakistan and UAE had shared strong ties and are looking forward to developing a stronger relationship in the future.

Pakistan Foreign Minister pays visit to UAE

Qureshi also visited the Pakistan Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai. During an interview for local media, Foreign Minister stated that the UAE has always stood along with Pakistan historically. In this regard, Pakistan will protect the interests of the Emirates and help it with security.

In addition, Pakistan Foreign Minister said “we are strategic partners and will remain strategic partners trough every cooperation process.”

“Whether it is economy, diplomacy, politics or defense, we stand with the UAE and will protect its interests on all fronts, ” he added.

Foreign Minister Quereshi Key Remarks

Moreover, he said that Pakistan has already condemned the Houthi’s strike on UAE. Foreign Minister called it an act of violation of the right of the state sovereignty of the United Arab Emirates.

Besides that, Pakistan Foreign Minister pointed out that they demanded an end to such militant attacks on UAE. He stated that UAE has always been helpful to Pakistan and Pakistan will not leave UAE at a crucial time.

Furthermore, he mentioned the concerns of Pakistan regarding the situation in the Gulf and the Middle East. He emphasize that these type of attacks poses a threat to the whole region. He stated, “Such acts of terrorism are a violation of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the UAE.

“They also pose a serious threat to the overall peace and stability in the region and must be stopped immediately,” Foreign Minister added.

He also praised the leadership of the host country to host such a global and great expo despite the Covid-19 restrictions. He praised the efforts of the Emirati leaders to ensure peace in the region.

“I’m impressed to see the first Expo in the Middle East, Africa, and South Asia. All credit goes to the UAE leadership for hosting such a huge show with a success,” Quereshi pointed out.
