Islamabad (TDI): Pakistan has declared another Indian High Commission staffer persona non grata and ordered him to leave the country within 24 hours, the second such expulsion this month.
The Foreign Office on Thursday summoned Indian Charge d’Affaires Geetika Srivastava and delivered formal protest through a demarche. She was instructed to prevent Indian diplomatic personnel from being involved in negative activities.
The FO stated that the Indian official was engaged in activities inconsistent with his diplomatic responsibilities. He was ordered to leave the country within 24 hours, it added.

A day earlier, India had also expelled a Pakistani official working at the Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi.
The Indian Ministry of External Affairs stated the staffer at the Pakistan mission has been declared “persona non grata” for engaging in activities contrary to his official status and that he has been given twenty-four hours to leave the country.

On May 13, India expelled another Pakistani official. Following India’s action, Islamabad had also expelled an Indian staffer posted at the Indian High Commission in Islamabad.
