Pakistan establishes diplomatic ties with Kiribati

June 5, 2021 (TDI): A simple ceremony was held at the Pakistani Mission to the United Nations, New York where diplomatic ties between the two states; the Islamic Republic of Pakistan and the Republic of Kiribati, were established officially. Kiribati is an island state in the Central Pacific Ocean. Permanent Representative of Kiribati, Ambassador Teburoro Tito, and Permanent Representative of Pakistan, Ambassador Munir Akram signed a Joint Communiqué to bring the diplomatic relationship into effect.

Both Ambassadors communicated their aspirations to encourage and enhance bilateral cooperation among both states. They conveyed their vision of promotion of bilateral political, trade, and economic ties, enhancement of links between both parliaments, and encouragement of educational and cultural relations between both states. They pledged to cooperate in different fields such as tourism, fisheries, and education. They reaffirmed their desire to promote the mutual agenda of the developing states, hence their readiness to work simultaneously at versatile fora.
