Pakistan Embassy organized session on Roshan Digital Account

Buenos Aires, 28 December 2021 (TDI): The Pakistan Embassy in Argentina in cooperation with Bank Al Habib organized a zoom call to deliberate on the Roshan Digital Account (RDA). 

In the session, participants were the Pakistan Ambassador in Argentina, Muhammad Khalid Ejaz, experts of Bank Al Habib Limited, and the State Bank of Pakistan. In addition to that, the target public participated in the session. For instance, it was the Pakistan community in South America; from Argentina, Chile, Peru, Paraguay, Uruguay, and Ecuador. 

This session is the second time the Embassy of Pakistan in Argentina organized a session to talk about the Roshan Digital Account. The first session occurred on the 18 of December at the Embassy, and Ambassador Ejaz received some Pakistanis that live in Argentina.  

Roshan Digital Account (RDA)

The Roshan Digital Account is a tool that facilitates direct investment from Pakistan’s diaspora. The State Bank launched the initiative with other eight banks, of which the bank Al Habib is part.  

The RDA is a platform created to facilitate direct investment from Pakistan’s diaspora. It is the first Pakistani platform to open exclusively through digital means. 

For instance, the platform allows many activities for its user. First, it facilitates digital access to all conventional services of banks, such as bill payments, transfers. Secondly, the users can purchase the fixed income saving certificate (Naya Certificate). Thirdly it will help to invest in shares and units in Pakistan stock Market and more. 

 Argentina and Pakistan Relationship

Pakistan and Argentina established diplomatic relations in 1951. Since that time, they have had a cordial relationship. The two countries cooperate in high-level visits, bilateral consultations, forums, parliamentary exchanges, cooperation in education, science, technology, trade, and investment.

The Pakistan Embassy in Argentina has jurisdiction in other countries of South America. The countries are Uruguay, Paraguay, Ecuador, Peru, and Chile. The Pakistan Embassy in Argentina’s role is to serve its diaspora in all its jurisdictions and work for the local people.
