Pakistan Dismisses India’s Allegations at UNSC

-

ISLAMABAD (TDI): Pakistan’s Permanent Mission to the UN dismissed India’s accusations as baseless and misleading during a debate titled “Leadership for Peace” at the United Nations Security Council (UNSC).

Counselor Gul Qaiser Sarwani stated that India relies on tactics of denial, distortion, and deflection to promote a false narrative.

Sarwani accused India of sponsoring terrorism not only against Pakistan but also in other nations. He further said that India has been a longstanding perpetrator and financier of terrorist activities.

He labeled the Indian intelligence agency, the Research and Analysis Wing (RAW), as a “terrorist franchise” involved in global operations, including assassination attempts on political dissidents in North America.

This assertion follows a civil lawsuit filed by Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, a leader of the pro-Khalistan group Sikhs for Justice (SFJ).

He filed the lawsuit against the Indian government and senior RAW officials in a US Federal District Court.

The lawsuit alleges that RAW attempted to assassinate Pannun on US soil, claiming that the hitmen hired for the job were actually undercover federal agents.

The complaint names several high-ranking RAW officials, who reportedly report directly to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
