Pakistan denounces custodial killings in Kashmir

Baffliaz, 25 December 2023 (TDI): Pakistan strongly denounced the brutal custodial killing of three Kashmiri civilians in Poonch district of the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) on Sunday.

As witnessed by one of the civilians, Muhammad Younis, Indian soldiers took nine people into custody from Topa Peer village on Friday morning. In his remarks, two of his brothers and a cousin were also arrested.

The soldiers released one elderly man out of nine, while they harshly beat and electrocuted the others.

He further reported that his relatives were also ruthlessly tortured and were treated in an army hospital.

Indian soldiers took them into custody on the allegation of attacking two army vehicles in Poonch. The soldiers assert that the attackers killed four and injured three of their soldiers.

Locals accused that three of them, who were under custody were tormented to death and handed over to their respective families via local police.

Concurrently, the remaining five of them were moved to an army hospital after severe torture, as reported by the families to the press.

Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) spokesperson reported that the slain civilians were tormented to death at a camp of the Indian occupation army.

Moreover, a purported video clip demonstrated the abusive behavior of Indian personnel. He is witnessed in the video stripping three civilians and scattering chili powder on them.

The spokesperson further denounced offenders and emphasized holding them answerable for the brutal killings.

“India’s brutal occupation is the root cause of all major issues in IIOJK. The Kashmiri people must realize their inalienable rights to self-determination, as protected in the relevant UN Security resolution.” She added.
