Islamabad, 26 March 2022 (TDI): Pakistan condemned the attack perpetrated by the Houthis on Saudi Arabia. Earlier, the insurgents launched a ballistic missile attack on civilian infrastructure and industrial installations in Jazan, Saudi Arabia, on Sunday (KSA).
As the city prepared to host a Formula One race on Sunday, a large cloud of black smoke could be seen rising from the factory in Jeddah, in the aftermath of the attack.
Foreign Office Spokesperson, Asim Iftikhar issued an official statement calling for an urgent halt to these actions, which violates international law and jeopardizes Saudi Arabia’s as well as the region’s peace and security.
The Royal Saudi Air Defence Forces successfully intercepted and destroyed these attacks. The Arab coalition said on Friday that Saudi Arabia’s air defense forces destroyed seven drones and a missile launched by the Houthi militia targeting the Kingdom’s southern region.
The coalition has been assisting the internationally recognized Yemeni government against the rebels, Pakistan’s full support and solidarity are with the brotherly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia against any threat to its sovereignty and territorial integrity.
This was emphasized by the spokesperson. The statement said, “Pakistan reaffirms its full support and solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) against any threats to its security and territorial integrity,” said Foreign Office spokesperson in a news release.
He said such attacks not only violated international laws but also threatened the peace and security of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the region. Pakistan also called for an immediate cessation of these attacks.
