Pakistan Committed to Tennis Development, Says PTF President

Islamabad (TDI): Pakistan’s junior team delivered a commendable performance at the Billie Jean King Cup Junior Asia/Oceania Pre-Qualifying event, held from March 16 to 21.

The squad, featuring Zunaisha Noor, Hajra Sohail, Romaisa Malik, and captain Sara Mansoor, secured 5th position among 12 competing nations, marking Pakistan’s best-ever finish in the Under-16 category of the tournament.

During the competition, Pakistan registered wins against Macau (China), Pacific Oceania, and Guam, showcasing steady progress on the regional stage. However, the team fell short against Sri Lanka and Singapore, both of whom advanced to the next round.

Officials of the Pakistan Tennis Federation congratulated the players and team management for their strong showing.

PTF President Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi praised the team’s efforts, saying the performance reflects ongoing work to promote and strengthen tennis in the country.

“Our team played well throughout the competition. We are committed to the development of tennis in Pakistan and remain hopeful that our players will continue to improve and achieve qualification in future events,” he said.
