Pakistan, China to Take Ties to New Heights: PM Shehbaz

Islamabad (TDI): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering friendship with China, expressing confidence that the two countries would continue to strengthen their partnership in the years ahead.

In a message marking the 76th National Day of the People’s Republic of China, the prime minister extended warm greetings to the Chinese leadership and people on behalf of the government and citizens of Pakistan. He wished China continued progress, prosperity, and success.

Highlighting China’s remarkable achievements, Prime Minister Shehbaz said the National Day was not only a celebration of China’s national journey but also a reminder of its growing role in promoting global peace and stability.

He praised President Xi Jinping’s leadership, under which China had made historic strides in development and prosperity, offering lessons for the rest of the world.

The prime minister underscored that Pakistan’s relationship with China was founded on trust, sincerity, and sacrifice, values that would ensure peace and progress for generations to come.

Recalling his recent visit to Beijing, he described it as “highly productive,” pointing out that several important agreements were signed, including investment deals worth billions of dollars at the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit and a B2B conference.

He also emphasized the significance of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), calling it the most important joint venture between the two countries, which has now entered its crucial second phase.
