Islamabad (TDI): Pakistan and Belarus have agreed to strengthen cooperation in reforming their justice systems, focusing on digitalization, capacity building for legal professionals, legislative drafting, and legal education.
The agreement was reached during a meeting between Federal Minister for Law and Justice Azam Nazeer Tarar and Belarusian Minister of Justice Kovalenko Evgeny in Islamabad.
The discussions were marked by mutual respect and a shared commitment to enhancing bilateral ties.
The Belarusian minister outlined the mandate of his ministry and highlighted the scope for collaboration in areas such as digitalizing legal systems, improving legal awareness, and fostering international cooperation through the exchange of bar councils and legal associates.

Key topics included developing case management systems and advancing international mediation and arbitration.
Minister Kovalenko extended an invitation to Tarar and his team to visit Belarus, which was warmly accepted.
Tarar briefed his counterpart on existing treaties and memoranda of understanding, emphasizing their relevance as a foundation for future cooperation.
Both sides expressed interest in deepening ties through exchanges of legal professionals and capacity-building initiatives.

The discussions also touched upon potential partnerships in areas like the International Mediation and Arbitration Center (IMAC) and Case Assignment and Management Systems (CAMS).
