Islamabad/Apia (TDI): Pakistan and Bangladesh has held discussion on reviving the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) besides exchanging views on bilateral ties.
They discussed the regional issues on the fringes of the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in Samoa, when Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar and Bangladesh’s Foreign Affairs Advisor, Md Touhid Hossain met.
After assuming their positions, the two dignitaries met for the first time.
SAARC was considered ineffective after India boycotted the SAARC Summit in Islamabad back in 2016. Since then no important meeting of SAARC has taken place.
