Islamabad, 18 May 2023 (TDI): General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, met with Sheikh Saoud bin Abdul Rahman Al Thani, Ambassador of Qatar to Pakistan, to evaluate and develop bilateral relations between the two countries. The meeting focused on Pakistan’s and Qatar’s strategic alliances.

During the session, General Mirza and Diplomat Al Thani engaged in cordial discussions on various mutually beneficial themes. They acknowledged the long-standing friendship between Pakistan and Qatar based on similar principles. Both officials desired to expand cooperation in multiple areas, including defense, security, trade, and investment.

General Mirza expressed Pakistan’s gratitude for Qatar’s continuing assistance and solidarity. He underscored the significance of bilateral military cooperation and the need for regular exchanges of high-level military delegations to explore new paths of collaboration. He also commended Qatar’s initiatives to advance peace and stability in the region.

The Ambassador stressed the possibilities for further developing economic cooperation between the two nations, stressing Qatar’s significant interest in exploring investment opportunities in Pakistan’s infrastructure development projects.
