Abu Dhabi (TDI): Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister of Pakistan Ishaq Dar led Pakistan’s delegation at the 12th session of Pakistan-UAE Joint Ministerial Commission (JMC), on Tuesday.
The session was focused on reviewing the JMC agenda and to assess the progress on various bilateral committments. The discussions were mainly aimed at trade, investment, energy, telecommunications and employment opportunities for the Pakistani citizens in UAE.
According to an official statement by the Foreign Office of Pakistan on X, “the DPM/FM in his remarks appreciated the efforts of the participating ministries and departments for their active involvement and stressed the importance of translating dialogue into tangible outcomes.

He expressed confidence that the 12th JMC would lead to concrete measures for strengthening bilateral cooperation and institutional linkages between Pakistan and the UAE”.
Foreign Minister Dar co-chaired the JMC session with Deputy Prime Minister UAE, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed. Both countries discussed steps to expand economic and development cooperation. Moreover they also reviewed the progress in trade, investment and IT.
DPM/FM Dar posted on X, stating the two countries signed three MoUs. “Three important MoUs were signed: Visa exemption for diplomatic & official passport holders; Cooperation in AI & the digital economy; and joint investment promotion, which will pave the way for enhanced engagement to the mutual benefit of both nations.”

In addition to this, Dar also met Mohammed Saif Al Suwaidi who is Director General of Abu Dhabi Fund For Development (ADFD). Both discussed the ways to enhance development cooperation, expand ADFD’s support for key projects in Pakistan and explore new areas for investment. They also reaffirmed their shared commitment towards development and cooperation.
DPM Pakistan also presented the award of Hilal-e-Quaid-e-Azam on behalf of the President of Pakistan to the Director General of Abu Dhabi Fund For Development (ADFD), Mohammed Saif Al Suwaidi, in appreciation and acknowledgement of his extraordinary efforts in promoting Pakistan-UAE cooperation.

The Hilal-e-Quaid-e-Azam award is a prestigious civil award which is conferred by the President of Pakistan, the award honors both Pakistani nationals and foreign nationals for their exceptional efforts and services to Pakistan in various fields.
The session was attended by a number of senior officials which included the Special Assistant to Prime Minister, Tariq Bajwa. Special Secretary Economic Affairs Division (EAD), Pakistan’s Ambassador to UAE, Secretaries of Commerce, Interior, Overseas Pakistanis, IT, & SIFC, and Additional Secretaries from Ministry of Food Security & Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
