Islamabad, 4 December 2022 (TDI): Speaking at the 95th National Day of the Kingdom of Thailand celebration, the Thai ambassador stated that bilateral trade volume between Pakistan and Thailand would set a new record as this September’s volume was already 6 percent higher than the previous year.
According to Chakkrid Krachaiwong, the Thai ambassador to Pakistan, the two countries’ bilateral trade volume has surpassed $1.8 billion and both nations were concentrating on finding new trade and investment opportunities in a variety of industries.
He announced the news that a Pakistani businessman who traveled to Thailand with the Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce has invested in buying two hotels in Phuket, which is encouraging for growing bilateral investments.

The ambassador said that both states also commemorated the 70th anniversary of their diplomatic relations, but connections between our two nations go back more than 2,000 years. Thai plays and student textbooks have both referred to Taxila.
The Thai ambassador also highlighted that Thailand would cooperate with Pakistan as a friend in order to realize the shared objectives of the two states for the good of citizens as well as all human beings.
In reference to intercultural interactions, he stated that Thai Airways has chosen to restart direct flights to all three main cities, including Islamabad, Lahore, and Karachi.

Additionally, there would be more flights, rather than only one once a week. He claimed that Pakistani tourists had been welcomed to Thailand for holidays and Thai cuisine for many years.
When describing the significance of ASEAN, the ambassador noted that Thailand had collaborated closely with other members in Islamabad to improve multifaceted cooperation with Pakistan.
For the convenience of businesspeople looking for information on conducting business in ASEAN, he noted that ASEAN desks had been created at the Chambers of Commerce in Rawalpindi and Islamabad.
Thai Ambassador emphasized the importance of the national day by stating that the 5th of December is a significant day for the Thai people as they observe Father’s Day, the National Day of the Kingdom of Thailand, and the late King Bhumibol’s birthday anniversary.
The UN has designated December 5 as “World Soil Day” in honour of the late King’s outstanding contributions to soil research that have improved people’s quality of life.
