Pakistan, Singapore agree to further broaden bilateral ties

APIA/Islamabad (TDI): Pakistan and Singapore agreed to further broaden bilateral cooperation between the two countries.

The commitment for further enhancing ties between the two countries was expressed on Friday as Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar and Foreign Minister of Singapore Dr. Vivian Balakrishnan met on the sidelines of the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) being held here in the capital of Samoa.

The two sides reviewed the state of bilateral relations and underlined the need to broaden bilateral cooperation and dialogue.

In the meeting the two foreign ministers also approved to remain engaged on issues of mutual interest.

The deputy prime minister reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to forge a broad-based relationship with Singapore anchored in strong economic, political and cultural cooperation.

The two sides also exchanged views on various regional and global issues.  They stressed the need for comprehensive regional approaches to develop a coordinated response to emerging global challenges.

Pakistan and Singapore are enjoying cordial relations for long. Singapore is also one of major investors in Pakistan.
