Beijing (TDI): Pakistan’s Ambassador to China, Khalil Hahsmi has highlighted Pakistan’s natural advantage for renewable resources of energy with its long coastline of over one thousand kilometers.
He was addressing a seminar titled “High-Quality Development of Offshore Wind Power Supply Chain” at the Chinese city of Fuzhou.
He praised China’s rapid advancements in offshore wind industry sector and underlined the need for enhancing bilateral cooperation by strengthening technology exchanges, infrastructure development and regulatory support.
He invited Chinese investors to explore the opportunities available in Pakistani offshore wind industry.

China is emerging as dominant player in global wind power energy. China’s cumulative offshore wind power capacity grew to approximately 31 gigawatts in 2022. It has surpassed the Europe for the first time in this connection.
Reports suggests that the installed capacity in China in the same year was about 5 gigawatts, more than double that of Europe.

According to Global Energy Monitor, China is cementing its position as the global leader in renewables development with 180 GW of utility-scale solar and 159 GW of wind power already under construction.
The report says that the total of the two is nearly twice as much as the rest of the world combined, and enough to power all of South Korea, according to new data from Global Energy Monitor (GEM).
