Sharm El-Sheikh (TDI): Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met with the Amir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, on the sidelines of the Peace Summit on Gaza, reaffirming the strong and historic ties between Pakistan and Qatar.
In a warm and cordial meeting held in the Egyptian resort city, both leaders expressed shared commitment to deepening bilateral relations and working together on regional and international challenges.
The encounter marked the fourth high-level interaction between the two leaders in just over a month, underscoring the growing momentum in Pakistan-Qatar ties.
Previous meetings included two visits by Prime Minister Sharif to Doha in September and a subsequent discussion during the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.
PM Sharif conveyed his deep appreciation for the Amir’s leadership and diplomacy, which played a key role in facilitating the landmark peace agreement signed at the Sharm El-Sheikh summit.

The agreement, hailed as a significant step forward, aims to bring an end to hostilities in Gaza and create a pathway toward peace in the region.
Applauding Qatar’s consistent efforts in promoting peace and humanitarian relief, the Prime Minister reiterated Pakistan’s long-standing support for the Palestinian cause, calling for the establishment of an independent and viable Palestinian state based on pre-1967 borders, with Al Quds Al Sharif as its capital.
He also reaffirmed Pakistan’s continued commitment to providing humanitarian assistance to Palestinians affected by the ongoing crisis.
The Amir of Qatar thanked Sharif for Pakistan’s principled stance and solidarity with the Palestinian people. He expressed optimism that continued international focus and cooperation could help secure long-term peace and stability in the region.
The two leaders agreed to maintain close engagement on regional and global matters of mutual interest, while exploring new avenues to strengthen cooperation in sectors including trade, energy, investment, and labor.
