Sharma el-Sheikh, 8 November 2022 (TDI): On the sidelines of the COP 27 Climate Implementation Summit in Sharm El-Sheikh today, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met with Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Store of Norway.
The two presidents talked about their bilateral relationships and shared opinions on global and regional matters of importance.
The Prime Minister emphasized the need for further bilateral collaboration in commerce, clean energy, education, and technology while reasserting the importance of Pakistan’s long-standing relations with Norway.
The prime minister praised Norwegian telecom and technology firms for their excellent contributions to Pakistan’s service industry.
He anticipated that in the future, more Norwegian enterprises and companies would benefit from the government’s investor-friendly policies.
The Prime Minister informed his Norwegian counterpart of the catastrophic devastation brought on by the floods brought on by climate change that swamped large land of Pakistan earlier this year.

Prime Minister Shehbaz praised Norway’s leadership for assisting Pakistan’s flood relief efforts and stressed the importance of cooperation between the two nations in addressing climate change’s negative impacts.
The Prime Minister brought up ongoing human rights abuses by India in occupied Jammu and Kashmir when discussing the situation in the region.
He emphasized that without a peaceful resolution of the Jammu and Kashmir dispute in accordance with the aspirations of the Kashmiri people and the pertinent UN Security Council resolutions, long-lasting peace and security in South Asia would remain elusive.
The commitment of Pakistan to stability and peace in Afghanistan was reiterated by the prime minister.
In order to assist the Afghan people in overcoming the humanitarian and economic challenges plaguing their nation, he said continuous and practical involvement with Afghanistan was essential.
Prime Minister Stre once again extended a warm welcome to visit Pakistan whenever it would be convenient for him.
Shehbaz Sharif, the prime minister of Pakistan, is now at the Sharm El-Sheikh International Congress Center, in Egypt, for the “Sharm El-Sheikh Climate Implementation Summit.” This conference is a component of the 27th UN Climate Change Conference.
