Islamabad (TDI): Pakistan’s Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (SAPM) on Industries and Production, Haroon Akhtar Khan, met with Kuwait’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Nasser Abdulrahman Jassim Al-Mutairi, to discuss ways to enhance collaboration.
The meeting was attended by senior officials including Secretary Industries Capt (r) Saif Anjum, Secretary Commerce Jawad Paul, and Director General of the National Logistics Corporation, Major General Farrukh Shehzad Rao.
During the discussions, Haroon Akhtar Khan described Kuwait as a “brotherly country,” emphasizing the deep-rooted and longstanding relationship between the two nations.
He highlighted that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Pakistan is actively working to promote regional peace and economic stability despite ongoing geopolitical challenges.
The SAPM noted that the government has established special committees aimed at boosting food exports to Gulf countries, including Kuwait. He stressed Pakistan’s intent to strengthen business-to-business connections and attract Kuwaiti investment across various sectors.
“Pakistan offers a vast market with abundant natural resources and immense economic potential,” he said, reiterating the government’s commitment to enhancing trade and investment ties.

Haroon Akhtar Khan also underscored the Prime Minister’s broader vision of deepening Pakistan’s engagement with Gulf nations to achieve shared economic prosperity.
Ambassador Al-Mutairi welcomed these initiatives and expressed appreciation for the support shown by the people of Pakistan during difficult times. He reaffirmed Kuwait’s interest in expanding cooperation in key sectors such as food, information technology, and trade, signaling strong prospects for future collaboration.
Highlighting sector-specific opportunities, Secretary Industries Saif Anjum pointed to the potential for joint ventures in mobile phone manufacturing and other industrial domains.
Meanwhile, DG NLC Major General Farrukh Shehzad Rao emphasized the importance of strengthening logistics, cargo, and transportation links to facilitate increased trade flows between the two countries.
The discussions reflect a shared commitment to translating longstanding diplomatic ties into tangible economic partnerships that benefit both nations.
