Pakistan’s High Commissioner Presents Credentials to Ghanaian President

Accra (TDI): Pakistan’s High Commissioner to Ghana, Najeeb Durrani, presented his letters of credence to President John Mahama, and held discussions on strengthening bilateral ties across multiple sectors.

President Mahama encouraged Pakistani companies to invest in Ghana, particularly in the manufacturing industry. He also expressed his intention to send a high-level defense delegation to Pakistan to explore cooperation in defense and counterterrorism.

In recent weeks, a Pakistani Rice Road Show was organized in Accra, attracting leading Pakistani exporters and Ghanaian importers.

Since Durrani’s arrival in Ghana, a growing number of Pakistani businesses have shown interest in establishing operations in the West African nation.

The presentation of credentials marks a new phase in Pakistan–Ghana relations, with both countries signaling readiness to broaden cooperation beyond traditional areas.

Officials noted that the private sector would play a crucial role in translating these opportunities into concrete projects.

Observers believe that Pakistan’s expertise in agriculture, textiles, pharmaceuticals, and defense production could find a strong market in Ghana, while Ghana’s position as a gateway to West Africa offers Pakistan greater access to regional trade.

The High Commissioner reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to building long-term partnerships with Ghana, stressing that closer ties would not only benefit both nations but also contribute to greater regional stability and prosperity.
