Brussels (TDI): Ambassador Rahim Hayat Qureshi, Pakistan’s Ambassador to European Union, Belgium, and Luxembourg, met with Ambassador Abdulkhaleq Ali Saeed Bindhaaer Al Yafei, the Permanent Observer of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to the European Union.
The two dignitaries held a detailed and constructive exchange on matters of mutual concern, with a special focus on the situation in the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJ&K) and India’s misinformation and misrepresentation of the Pahlagam attack.
Ambassador Rahim Hayat took the opportunity to brief Ambassador Al Yafei on India’s year-round disinformation campaign and misrepresentation of the human rights situation in IIOJ&K.

He highlighted the ongoing restrictions, demographic changes, and systematic human rights violations being carried out by Indian occupation forces in the region.
Ambassador Qureshi underscored the need for the international community, particularly the OIC, to remain vigilant and proactive in countering such narratives and standing up for the rights of the Kashmiri people.
Ambassador Qureshi also extended gratitude to the OIC for its consistent support to the Kashmir cause. He especially thanked the organization for the recent visit of the OIC Secretary General’s Special Envoy for Jammu and Kashmir, Ambassador Yousef M. Al Dobeay, to Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
During his visit, Ambassador Al Dobeay reaffirmed the OIC’s principled stance and unwavering support for the just struggle of the Kashmiri people for self-determination in accordance with relevant UN resolutions.

In addition to the Kashmir issue, both ambassadors discussed the deteriorating situation in Palestine, reiterating their shared concern over the humanitarian crisis and the need for collective action to safeguard the rights of the Palestinian people and to ensure peace and justice in the region.
The meeting concluded with a mutual understanding to foster deeper cooperation between their respective missions in Brussels. They agreed to work closely to raise awareness on key issues affecting the Muslim world, and to strengthen collaborative efforts within the EU framework to promote peace, justice, and respect for international law.
The meeting reaffirmed the strong and historic ties between Pakistan and the OIC, and both ambassadors emphasized the importance of continued engagement and solidarity on pressing regional and global challenges.
