Muscat (TDI): Syed Naveed Safdar Bokhari, the newly appointed Ambassador of Pakistan to the Sultanate of Oman, officially presented his credentials to Sultan Haitham Bin Tariq, assuming charge of his ambassadorial duties.
The ceremony was held at the majestic Al Barka Royal Palace in Muscat, signifying the longstanding and cordial diplomatic relations between the two brotherly countries.
Ambassador Bokhari conveyed warm greetings and best wishes from the President and Prime Minister of Pakistan to Sultan Haitham Bin Tariq, expressing Pakistan’s deep admiration for the visionary leadership of the Sultan and the remarkable progress Oman has achieved under his stewardship.
During the ceremony, the Ambassador reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to further strengthen bilateral relations with Oman in all areas of mutual interest, including trade, investment, energy, defense cooperation, and cultural exchange.

He emphasized the shared religious, cultural, and historical bonds that unite the people of Pakistan and Oman and reiterated Pakistan’s desire to elevate the partnership to new heights in the years ahead.
The Ambassador also acknowledged the valuable contribution of the Pakistani community residing in Oman and thanked the Sultanate’s leadership for their continued support of the Pakistani diaspora in Oman.
Oman – a small Muslim country on the southeastern coast of the Arabian peninsula, hosts a sizable Pakistani diaspora that plays a significant role in the development of the Sultanate while acting as a bridge of goodwill between the two countries.
Ambassador Bokhari expressed his eagerness to engage with his counterparts in Oman; as well as business leaders and the diplomatic community to enhance mutual understanding and cooperation.
He highlighted Pakistan’s ongoing efforts toward economic reform and investment facilitation, inviting Omani investors to explore the vast opportunities available in various sectors including tourism, infrastructure, technology, and agriculture.

Ambassador Syed Naveed Safdar’s diplomatic assignments include the Embassy of Pakistan in Beijing from 2005-2008, where he worked as Third Secretary, Second Secretary, and First Secretary.
From 2011-2014, he was part of Pakistan’s Mission in Washington DC, serving as First Secretary and later as Counsellor.
He later served as Deputy Consul General at the Consulate General of Pakistan in Chengdu, China (2014–2018), where he worked to deepen trade and cultural ties between Pakistan and the Sichuan province.
Most recently, from 2020-2024, he served as the Deputy Chief of Mission at the Embassy of Pakistan in Washington DC.
The presentation of credentials to the Sultan marks the formal beginning of Ambassador Bokhari’s diplomatic tenure in Oman.
