Islamabad, 27 January 2022 (TDI): Foreign Minister of Pakistan, Shah Mahmood Qureshi visited Air Headquarters and commended the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) for living up to the Quaid’s vision of being “Second to None”.

The Foreign Minister had a meeting with Air Chief Marshal, Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, Chief of the Air Staff, Pakistan Air Force on, Thursday, in which he gave the earlier mentioned statement.

Both exchanged views on an array of topics. A discussion was held about various sectors. The ever-evolving geopolitical environment and geostrategic situation were discussed. The light was also shed on regional security given the region’s sensitivity during this time.

Pakistan Air Force (PAF) Modernization Program

While talking about the forthcoming visit of the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Imran Khan, to China, the Chief of the Air Staff shared the PAF Modernization Program. The plan is to incorporate recent technologies and smart inductions for modernization.

Furthermore, Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu stated that collaboration will be done with brotherly China. It is pertinent to mention here that the Prime Minister will be accompanied by the Foreign Minister of Pakistan on his visit to China.

The other various partnerships between the two friendly nations were also talked about. These collaborations have a wide span. They cover multiple domains.

Foreign Minister of Pakistan, Shah Mahmood Qureshi stated that the present government is fully supportive of Pakistan Air Force and its initiatives. The government will provide full assistance to modernize PAF as Next Generation Air Force.

Additionally, he expressed his appreciation for the work that is being done by PAF. He was appreciative of the fact that PAF has always remained incredibly professional. The role played by PAF in providing defense particularly the air defense was acknowledged by Shah Mahmood Qureshi.

Lastly, the Chief of Air Staff extended his appreciation for the role that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is playing in portraying a positive image of Pakistan globally.
