Islamabad (TDI): Pakistan carried out a forceful military attack against Afghan Taliban positions after what officials described as unprovoked cross-border aggression, launching Operation Ghazab-lil-Haq and inflicting heavy losses on the enemy.

Federal Information Minister Atta Tarar said the operation was initiated following hostile actions along the Pakistan–Afghanistan border. According to official assessments, at least 133 Taliban fighters were killed and more than 200 injured during the engagement.

Security officials stated that Pakistani forces dismantled multiple key Taliban posts, forcing them to raise white flags at several locations after sustained pressure. Artillery fire and quadcopter-based precision strikes were used to neutralize defensive positions, significantly reducing the militants’ operational capacity.

Tarar said the response was carefully coordinated and delivered clear results. He confirmed that 27 Afghan posts were destroyed while nine were taken over. In addition, more than 80 military assets, including tanks, artillery systems and armored personnel carriers, were eliminated.

The Pakistan Air Force also played a decisive role, conducting targeted air operations against Taliban military infrastructure in Kandahar, Kabul, and Paktia. These strikes reportedly destroyed two corps headquarters, three brigade headquarters, several battalion and sector command centers, ammunition depots, and a major logistics base.

“These were highly effective air operations,” Tarar said, citing security briefings.

Pakistan confirmed that two soldiers were martyred and three others injured during the operation. The minister praised the armed forces for defending the country with professionalism and resolve, warning that any further aggression would receive a firm and uncompromising response.

He also cautioned against misinformation circulating online, saying hostile elements were attempting to distort facts following the operation.

Defense Minister Khawaja Asif said Pakistan’s restraint had reached its limit, stressing that national sovereignty and security would not be compromised under any circumstances.

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi accused the Afghan Taliban of deliberately targeting civilians, calling the act cowardly and unacceptable. He warned that such actions would carry serious consequences.
