Oman’s Home-Grown Food Chain ‘Seven Fries’ Opens in Islamabad

Muscat (TDI): Seven Fries, the first Omani brand committed to fresh-cut French fries, has reached Islamabad, as Oman’s Ambassador Fahad bin Sulaiman bin Khalaf Al Kharusi inaugurated the franchise.

Seven Fries is becoming a global name in fast foods.  Founded by Issa bin Saleh al Aghbari in 2021 in the Wilayat of Al Seeb, the brand has grown from a start-up firm to a fast-spreading franchise with global aspirations.

In just under two years, Seven Fries has carved out a place for itself in Oman’s food scene, opening outlets in both Dhofar and Muscat. With its fresh-cut fries and creative flavor twists, it didn’t take long for the brand to go from a humble local eatery to a fast-rising food sensation — loved by loyal fans and curious newcomers alike.

The brand’s momentum accelerated after it was selected from over 300 entries to the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s franchise program—a clear vote of confidence that led to a formal partnership and scaling support.

Seven Fries had been able to establish two franchised stores in Al Amerat and Ibri by 2024 and thus began its franchise operations. Even so, the company had other plans in the offing beyond the borders of Oman.

It subsequently entered into franchise agreements in Erbil and Baghdad in Iraq and Islamabad in Pakistan and has signed an exclusive agreement in India, with the company founder Al Aghbari planning to establish 300 outlets from the Indian subcontinent.

“This brand represents Omani drive, determination, and innovation,” said Issa al Aghbari, Seven Fries’ Founder and CEO. “We aim to share our flavors and vision with new communities and build a brand of which Oman can be proud.”

International interest in Seven Fries today remains strong, with franchise enquiries arriving as far-off as the United States. It’s a clear reminder that even the simplest homegrown ideas can make it big internationally,  as long as they’re rooted in real purpose, strong values, and a clear vision.

But Seven Fries isn’t just a story about fries. It’s about how one Omani entrepreneur helped reshape the country’s food culture — and how local businesses, when done right, can win hearts far beyond their borders.
