Muscat, 26 August 2022(TDI): The Sultan of Oman, Haitham bin Tarik sent a cable of condolences to the King of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on the death of the late Princess Abeer bint Abdullah bin Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Jalawi Al Saud.
The passing away of the Princess was announced by the Royal Court of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on Thursday. The funeral prayer was performed on Friday after the afternoon prayer, at Imam Turki bin Abdullah Mosque, in Riyadh.

Saudi Arabia – Oman Diplomatic Relations
Saudi Arabia and Oman established diplomatic relations in 1971. Oman has an embassy in Riyadh and a consulate in Jeddah. Consequently, Saudi Arabia has an embassy in Muscat.
The two nations have a long historical relationship of cooperation and coordination. Both states are members of the Gulf Cooperation Council and adhere to Islamic ideologies. Both countries are gulf states which makes them strong allies.
Saudi Arabia and Oman are cooperating in fields of politics, economy, military, and security for the good of both countries and peoples.
In 2021, Saudi Arabia and Oman signed a Memorandum of Understanding on the establishment of the Oman-Saudi Coordination Council. The council focuses on achieving integration between the states.
Both states are cooperating in joint economic ventures by stimulating the public and private sectors to reach qualitative trade.
Both countries are working towards pursuing Oman’s 2040 vision and the Kingdom’s 2030 vision by enhancing partnership opportunities between the private sector in the two countries.
Furthermore, the two sides opened the 725-kilometer Oman-Saudi road. The road will contribute to the smooth movement of citizens of the two countries. It would also help to achieve the desired economic integration between the two countries.
