The Secretary General of OIC receives the President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir.

Jeddah, 12 April 2022 (TDI): The Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Hissein Brahim Taha, received today the President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), Barrister Sultan Mehmood Chaudhry.

At the request of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, President Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Barrister Sultan Mehmood Chaudhry had, left on 10 April for Saudi Arabia on a four-day official visit.

The Secretary-General reiterated the OIC’s firm and robust support for the cause of the people of Jammu and Kashmir, including their right to self-determination, during the meeting.

During the OIC Foreign Ministers’ summit in Islamabad last month, the President of Azad Kashmir was invited to visit the OIC headquarters. He reassured that the General Secretariat would spare no effort.

It will also raise the voice of the people of Jammu and Kashmir and advocate for the settlement of the dispute per relevant UN Security Council resolutions.

The President will also meet with Saudi authorities and members of the Kashmiri community in Saudi Arabia and brief the OIC Chief on the current political and human rights situation in the Indian-occupied Kashmir.

With different cultural, economic, political, and social divisions, the OIC is a diverse organization. Since its inception in the early seventh century, the Muslim world has always been central to global politics and economics.

Despite the fact that the Muslim world is a hub of global politics, economy, and history, it is also home to a slew of ongoing public disputes.

According to the President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, the people of Jammu and Kashmir are grateful to the OIC for its unwavering support. He also expressed his gratitude for the OIC Member States’ support and solidarity at the recent OIC sessions in Islamabad.
