Buenos Aires, 8 September 2022 (TDI): Parliamentary Secretary of Canada, Rob Oliphant met the Foreign Minister, Santiago Cafiero, and other important officials of Argentina on Wednesday.

During the meeting with the Foreign Minister of Argentina, Santiago Cafiero, it was decided that both sides will participate in the meeting of the Coalition for Equal Rights. In addition, the officials of Argentina and Canada also discussed the increased focus of both countries on bilateral trade, diplomacy, and cooperation in the following meeting.
The Parliamentary Secretary of Canada, Oliphant also had an official interaction with Argentine’s Commission of Foreign Affairs President. Parliamentary Secretary Oliphant also met the Chamber of Deputies with a focus on foreign affairs and the aspect of equal rights.

Meeting with Eduardo Valdés
The Parliamentary Secretary of Canada, Oliphant also had a meeting with several important officials of the Argentinian government. Parliamentary Secretary Oliphant met with the National Deputy of the City of Buenos Aires, Eduardo Valdés.
Along with Eduardo Valdes, important members of the Argentinian parliament were also there at the meeting.

During the meeting, human rights, the prevention of climate change and environmental threats, and the promotion of shared values were discussed. Moreover, a brief discussion on the international developments related to Russia-Ukraine War was also held.
Parliamentary Secretary Oliphant was welcomed by the Deputies of both ruling and opposition parties in the Argentinian Parliament. Oliphant and the Ambassador of Canada, Reid D. Sirrs were welcomed to the Hall of Honor in the National Chamber of Deputies.
During the meeting with Valdés, Parliamentary Secretary Oliphant discussed the strengthening of bilateral relations between the two countries.

Meeting with Business Community
During his visit, the Parliamentary Secretary of Canada also met the business community in Argentina.
